Hear Ye…Hear Ye…The incoming Mayor
The incoming Randwick Mayor gave this statement.
“I have lived in Randwick since 1992 I moved here with my Mum Jane, Dad Mike and little brother John from London, I started at Archway School straight away. I moved away to Uni and bought a house in Bristol for a few years but moved back as soon as I could.
John grew up and moved out and I now live in Randwick with my Dad, husband Jerry and children George Elsie and Winnie our two dogs Bob and Margaret and our friends Vika and Artem who have been with us for a full year now from Ukraine.
My dad was Mayor in 1999 and my Mum in the year 2014. I’m very excited and happy to be carried down the road on the same chair as them both. Mum sadly won’t be here in person but I’m hoping to wear the same dress as she wore that day, I’m sure she will be very happy and smiling down on us all, she loved Randwick and especially the Wap.
I was Wap Queen in 1994 and loved the day with an old Randwick resident John Schoen who was Mayor, he was the bell ringing captain at the time and was a great man, with a laugh I still remember well!
Fingers crossed for sunshine this year, what a day we had last year. Can’t wait to see you all I’m sure I will be another amazing day.”
We wish her well for the procession and hope for good omens from the cheese rolling at her hand.
